Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Recar ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Recar customer or agency applications.
Information we collect
- Phone number. Required for sign-in via SMS one-time code.
- Display name. Optional, shown to the agency on a reservation request.
- Identity documents. Driver's license and national ID images, used by the agency operator to verify your eligibility to rent. Stored encrypted; access controlled by signed short-lived URLs issued only to staff with an admin claim.
- Reservation details. Pickup/return dates, car selected, pickup method, and any free-text note you provide.
- Device + app diagnostics. Crash reports and basic device metadata via Firebase Crashlytics, used to find and fix bugs.
How we use the information
- To authenticate you and provision your account.
- To route your reservation requests to the chosen agency.
- To allow agency staff (and our internal operators) to verify your documents.
- To respond to support requests you initiate.
- To detect and fix software defects.
How we share the information
Your phone number, display name, and reservation details are shared with the agency you reserve from, only for the rental they have a need to fulfil. Identity documents are accessed by staff with an admin claim on a case-by-case basis. We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.
Retention
Your account, reservation history, and documents are retained while your account is active. You can delete your account from Profile → Delete Account, which removes your profile, documents, and storage objects, and propagates the deletion to associated systems.
Your choices
- Access + correction. Edit your display name from Profile.
- Deletion. Use Profile → Delete Account, or contact us at support@recar.app.
- Language. Switch between English and Arabic from Profile → Language.
